I had ups and downs this year, I have learned a lot and made a lot of memories. All in all I had a great year. I had a sad but a beautiful end of my school back home. I am thankful for those years of memories with all of them guys. A great winter camp and a great school vacation. Times I will never forget. I had the best summer ever! With my family and my friends. A summer we all never forget. Excited for next summer with my friends. I went on my journey of my exchange year. I am glad I did even though I struggled some. I experienced so much here, I learned and grown. I met new people I will never forget and hope to see again. Today I had a great day with the best host mother to end 2015 with. And I am ready to start 2016 and make a even better year out of it. I am gonna work my bucket list off for my exchange year. I will reach all my resolutions. And I will fight for what I want.

I realized something.
All my life I was negative about everything. I didn't wanted to get myself disappointed if I am excited about something and then it's not going to turn out how I want it. The same with this exchange year. I was all excited about it and I expect it different. And I was dissapointed and thought everything is bad. But it is only so bad how I bad i make it. A friend made me realize that I always complain and not appreciate what I have. I talked with my regional coordinator, she told me a lot about other exchange students and made me even more realize that I need to change something. I am going to be positive! New Years resolution set. Thank you Penny and Doris for supporting me and helping me with everything.
After a few rough days here I got my enthusiasm back. I am glad I spoke with my family back home.
Sometimes I get depressed by small things and let me push down easily, but my famliy made me realize again that I have to take the initiative to change things. Ready to enjoy an other 5 great month in Alabama. I am so happy with my host family. I had a great Christmas Eve. We played the Jelly Bean challenge and I already got two great presents and I hope they liked mine. I am excited for tomorrow! A GREAT DAY WITH TABEA AND ELINToday, I went with Elin and Tabea to the Gadsden Mall. We went around 11 am with Elins hostfathers camper to pick up Tabea at her friends house. I had a great day at the mall! We spent around 6 hours at the mall with a lot of fun. I am glad having such great friends. My first gingerbread house I made today with Samuel.
12.17.2015My hostmother and me wanted to go to get our hair done. So because I was out of school because of semester exams, we went pretty early, around 10 but the hairdresser was busy. We told her we're going to be back in an hour. So we went back home to get a part of the shower that was broken. And on our way back to Albertville, we went to get some pecans. We went to the Lowes to get a part for the shower but how two women in a homeworker shop end up was obvious. Even after the help of an employee we couldn't find that part. So I thought we're going to Wallmart to get groceries but Doris just dropped me off at a nail salon and got me a pedicure while she was getting groceries. One of my Christmas present, is what she said. Well, we both were so hungry that we ended up at Cracker Barrels eating breakfast. At that point it was already way more than an hour later but Doris needed something she couldn't get in Wallmart so we went to Foodland, where I went to the Dollar store next door. And after that we finally made it to the hair dresser. Doris got a nice hair cut. I cut my hair too and she did a great job. It's pretty short now but it looks so much better now.
I had a great day with Doris and I am glad having such a great host mother. Happy Birthday My Swedish FriendNovember 9th, we went to Maters with Elins family and friends. I hope she had a great birthday. She got a lot of presents and we had so much fun. It was a great evening. Those days they feel like Friday. Thank you for being my friend.
On November 26th Doris woke me up pretty early, because the Kerkshoff were participating at the Thanksgiving 10k race and I joined them. I walked the whole 10 kilometers without giving up. I am glad I walked with Carla and I could talk to her, we didn't realize that we already finished the race. After we all finished we went back home. We rested a little and after I got ready Doris, Steven and me head out again. We went to friends of Doris, she used to be the nanny of their sons. They are a really nice family and I had a great thanksgiving with them. She was an amazing cook and I had a lot of fun with her sons. I hope I am going to see them again. We left pretty late and it was all really emotional. |
